Inspired by an inff documentary about the global container shipping industry and the many ways in which its machinery is problematic, environmental activists Caro and Daniel founded Klimabohne in 2020.
Klimabohne stands for direct-trade specialty coffee from small farms in Colombia, climate-friendly and organic farming practices, and, naturally, transportation across the Atlantic by sailing ship.
This exceptional coffee is roasted to perfection by renowned Innsbruck barista Julian “Jouls” Schöpf at the historic Unterberger Roastery. Klimabohne has recently found its new home there and is now expanding the sustainable product range of Jouls’ BuX Independent GmbH.
This year, this special coffee will be available for the first time at the festival’s Directors’ Corner.
