watching travelers pass by while dreaming of
moving on himself. As Europe opens up and
journeys begin in every direction, he remains in
the same place – until falling in love with Christa
forces him to decide whether to keep dreaming
or finally take a step into the unknown.
With a deep understanding of his characters,
Christian Berger’s “Mautplatz” is a tender
portrait of longing, wanderlust and the search
for one’s own path. Presented as part of the
inff Retrospective celebrating the festival’s
