Life Beneath Our Feet – The Soil Cube at inff. What is happening beneath our feet? As we go about our daily lives on the surface, we are often unaware that a complex ecosystem is thriving right below us. From 7–10 October 2026, the „Soil Cube“ at Landhausplatz in Innsbruck invites visitors to shift their perspective and discover the fascinating world beneath the ground. But what exactly is the Soil Cube? The Soil Cube allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of soil and discover its inhabitants on a giant scale. Visitors can encounter woodlice, pseudoscorpions, centipedes and many other tiny creatures in XXL format. In addition to the animal models, three soil monoliths representing soil types found in Austria offer fascinating insights into the composition and characteristics of our local soils. Informative panels provide clear and accessible information about everything you need to know about our soils and the creatures that inhabit them. Free admission – suitable for all ages!
