Austria’s highest peak, the Großglockner, reveals how climate change reshapes alpine life and landscapes.
At 3,798 metres, Austria’s highest mountain
towers over a world in flux. Nearly 225 years
after its first ascent, the Großglockner is
now a focal point of alpine research. Rising
temperatures shift habitats, sending alpine
plants and animals on the move. Also for
humans, the mountain’s face is changing, the
recent closure of the Stüdlgrat due to rockfall
is a stark reminder of the risks.
For mountain
lovers and nature enthusiasts.
The screening is followed by a talk with director Andrea Albrecht.
