The quiet life of a retired botanist is disrupted when his young neighbour gets stung by one of his wild bees.
Dong-ho, a retired botanist, lives alone and tends to his greenhouse. He secretly keeps bees in his garden and struggles to preserve the wildflowers he brought back from Mount Paektu a decade ago. One day, he meets his twelve-year-old neighbour, Bom. While searching for mulberry leaves for the silkworms she is breeding, she ends up in his garden and is stung by one of his bees. A tender friendship develops. One day, Bom suddenly disappears, leaving only a note and a silkworm kit behind. After waiting several days, Dong-ho sets out to find her. With its poetic balance of emotion and reflection, the film invites us to take a fresh look at our connections with each other and with the natural world.
