Botanical illustration with pencil and ink

Botanical illustration is an art form rich in tradition, indispensable for science, and at the same time offers illustrators a unique experience of nature through an intensive and focused examination of plants. This workshop offers an introduction to training the eye and putting selected plants on paper.
Course leader: Elke Huber, botanist and illustrator, in cooperation with the Botanical Garden of the University of Innsbruck

25EUR/pP

Please bring along:
- Pencils (HB, and a softer one, for example 3B)
- eraser
- Simple sketching paper, a drawing pad or a sketchbook
- if available: Clipboard (otherwise provided)
The course is designed for beginners, so it is not absolutely necessary to get ink pens. However, there is no material to buy on site. If you would like to use ink pens and do not yet have any, please obtain them yourself in advance. We recommend - thin black ink pens (“micropens”) in 2 to 3 tip sizes (for example unipin, staedtler, copic, Sakura micron... between 0.5 - 0.1 - 0.05). When starting out with fineliners, smooth drawing paper without a coarse grain is recommended.
